IDEA: Verified Rimbit User Website

When you visit a forum, some of us look at "Post Count" to determine a persons trust and/or what they say has some value

So my idea is to have a website built that people can register themselves and also include their wallet address/s as part of a trust system for people who are simply trading without the need of anonymity or fear from disclosing basic information.

At some stage, this can also be incorporated in the Rimbit wallets, so when a wallet address thats registered on that site is entered in, a trust score based on forum involvement (this forum), score based on the time a user has been on the forum and also registered on "that" website as well as a verified address as the ultimate verification process.

If you are dealing in contraband, you would not use this system

However, as the world is skeptical, then having a trust score of a person, may become useful, even if its just to allow them access to something of yours, such as a blog etc.

This idea does HARK back to one of the early wallet concepts we had when we where still UnamedCoin

A side benefit is that forum users now have the opportunity to build up their post count now, rather than leaving it till the last minute... Personally I am amazed that I am over 100 posts in such a short time

It looks like a great idea. It could be an universal system for anyone on the Internet. If you want to know if this guy can be trust for a transaction, you go to the rimbittrust.com site and see his "ratings". Like a global reputation system! Sounds really interesting!

Trust is earned and this new forum can help it move along...
My idea is that a user builds his/her trust via various means and their wallet address is then a trusted commodity.... not tied down to a physical address as is the general way of verification
But to get to full verification does mean establishing yourself via various means and not simply filling out a form, entering some digits sent to you and being 100% verified in a day or so....

This verification idea is based on involvement, user feedback, trades, and a history of involvement that cannot be done overnight..... and for those that would prefer to remain anonymous.. they can continue to do so and expect a private verification done between themselves and a merchant or group..... The choice is theirs....

Shop owners who get regular customers after a while can sometimes get to know them by name... Frequent the same PUB for a while and one day get caught out with your wallet at home... chances are the PUB owner will know your trusted to pay the next time your in... Its a bit like bringing the real world scenarios to a digital version of it

Then again, you get one address verified and you keep another one for your anonymous purchases....

I also think that early adopters of Rimbit should be recognized in the trust score....
For example,

• posts earlier in Rimbit forum that continue on a regular basis
• Early adopters who promote Rimbit via social networks (It is a quantifiable amount)

And as Nakamoto Satoshi or all those that helped contribute to Bitcoin, they are all now part of history, so perhaps Rimbit can do the same, but take it a step further and publicly recognize them for years to come.

Imagine for one minute, 10 years from now, you are doing a purchase of a car or home or PC and the seller is informed you are one of the first ones into Rimbit.... Good chance that you may get preferential treatment and perhaps a discount as they know full well that the early adopters got big amounts of Rimbit early on and there is a good chance that the buyer has a stockpile of Rimbit to make subsequent purchases...

How better to not only reward all Rimbit users today, but give them a sense of accomplishment years from now.... and those wallets can be passed down through generations as collectors items or as super trusted wallets!

CyberHippie just like in the real world. I assumed that if someone obtained control of said persons wallet, used it to purchase contraband without consent, the original owner of the wallet would need to rebuild their trust.

I dont think I ever mentioned what a person buys, whether contraband or not, so If I did suggest that, i do retract it.
As I said.. there are people on this forum I dont trust... and I have no idea what they buy with Rimbit.... Trust is earned.... Trust has nothing to do with what people buy
In fact... I buy contraband... its airsoft and is illegal for non-thais to own (actually the rules are very sketchy)... do you trust me any less for that?

This is a fabulous idea. You started something like it on the old forum - a trust factor for purchasers of RBT who didn't stiff you.

Thats right, but we take it to the next level and way beyond...
Something like a Credit Rating, but the user is responsible for their own score... self policing type policy....

Im sure some of us already know some members that we would consider somewhat trusted and others, even though they have been around for a while .... to be untrustworthy, even though they have posted substantially

I know Tee is trustworthy. He sent me his book after I sent him the 450 RBT. Pazvanti, too, on his old faucet always sent the earned RBT. Funny haven't heard from him in a long time....since he sold the faucet.

I like this idea. I guess there could be a market for wallets - a CH wallet would be worth a lot, even if there was no Rimbits left in it. However if CH did sell his wallet to some dodgy character, it would reflect on CH, not the dodgy person, thereby encouraging Ch to not sell unless he gets a huge offer..

The seller of a wallet with high rating to a scumbag should not get his new wallet to the old level

Setting up a reputation/trust system is a great idea.
If you sold your wallet to a dodgy person there should be a scoring system in place that would drop the reputation quickly.

Good point... perhaps it can factor in the buyers trust score... so if there is no trust, its a bad purchase as its value is nill.... nada.... zip
But if the buyer does have a good reputation, it can add value to their trust score....
Something worth considering and also working out the maths for....

On anotherforum, people sell goods with withcomments like 2000+ on ebay. it is a painto verify. an easy to use system would be worth having.

I think setting up a reputation/trust system would be a great thing to have on this forum.
Maybe have it so people could saw how much someone is trustworthy on a voting system.

Voting systems fail and all it takes is some idiot with enough email addresses and VPN to make it fail
As for transactions, I think the only valid comment is from sellers as buyers can again be associates of sellers pumping their trust (like with ebay)
History and Social networking including this forum is a more reliable system... thats my opinion

Perhaps even break it up into categories:
Community Involvement - 78
Trading - 56
Overall - Whatever the maths is.. (Its 4 in the morning and my brain and fingers are tired from so much typing)

one thing to note is thattrading can be manipulated easily. on ebay you can buy a positive feedback for a penny.
