  • Windows Wallet Errors - Simple fix

Every now and then, your wallet may encounter and error due to premature shutdown, blackouts, upgrades etc.
As long as you always have your backup, you will never have lost anything.

#1 Procedure if you HAVE your backup in a safe place
    1. Uninstall Rimbit
    2. then go to C:\Users\*Your Account*\AppData\Roaming\Rimbit and delete everything in there.
    3. Install Rimbit again, and then go back into C:\Users\*Your Account*\AppData\Roaming\Rimbit and replace the wallet.dat file with your backup and make sure its named wallet.dat
    4. Restart Rimbit and it will start syncing and you then just need to exit when the blocks downlloading pauses for an extended time and restart Rimbit again (You will need to do this a few times)
#2 Procedure if you do not have a backup
    1. Go to C:\Users\*Your Account*\AppData\Roaming\Rimbit and locate the wallet.dat file
    2. Copy the wallet.dat file to your desktop or a folder on your PC, such as documents - In other words, copy it to a secure place that you will use for backups
    3. Uninstall Rimbit
    4. then go to C:\Users\*Your Account*\AppData\Roaming\Rimbit and delete everything in there.
    5. Install Rimbit again, and then go back into C:\Users\*Your Account*\AppData\Roaming\Rimbit and replace the wallet.dat file with your backup and make sure its named wallet.dat
    6. Restart Rimbit and it will start syncing and you then just need to exit when the blocks downlloading pauses for an extended time and restart Rimbit again (You will need to do this a few times)
Procedure if you deleted everything and do not have any form of backup or retrieving the old content
    1. You have lost it all
    2. If you have a windows.old folder (due to upgrading windows), you may be fortunate enough to have your wallet.dat file located in the archived folder, so if that the case, copy the wallet.dat file and store the copy in a safe place, then follow Procedure #2
